New Zealand Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs)

Te Pou, New Zealand’s National Centre of Mental Health Research, Information and Workforce Development, is actively working to provide information for a national certificate for Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs) (aka Behavioral Health Consultants). At some point in the near future, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQAMāoriMana Tohu Mātauranga o Aotearoa) may administer educational assessment and qualifications for HIPs. This will make New Zealand the first country in the world to have a national certificate for a Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) behavioral health member of the primary care team. Way to go, Kiwis!
